Pantera Are Coming Back

In news that has thrilled the music world, American groove metal legends, Pantera, have unleashed a teaser video on Instagram confirming they have started rehearsals for a 2023 world tour. This will be the first time the band has hit the road in more than years when the tour officially kicks off in December of this year. And the other big news is that they have already added nine more shows to their tour.
So far, it is confirmed they will play 22 shows, including several European, North American, and South American metal and rock festivals. But with the recent further nine shows added, fans are right to expect this number will only continue to grow.
The band has endured far more tragedy than most, with guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott being murdered on stage in 2004. His brother, drummer Vicent “Vinnie Paul” Abbott, passed away a mere 14 years later of heart failure. Two brilliant musicians taken well before their time.
For this upcoming tour, surviving members Philip Anselmo (vocals) and Rex Brown (bass) will join forces with Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne) on guitar and Charlie Benante (Anthrax) on drums. The released video shows the four apparently rehearsing for the impending tour together. Interestingly, Brown had previously been adamant that Wylde would not join Pantera for any reunion tours. It is not known why this changed, but what is known, is that fans can’t wait to see this happen.
Wylde and Benante have both spoken of their intention to honour the Pantera sound and pay appropriate tribute to its fallen members. They want their contributions to sound like Darrell and Vinnie. While they are under no illusions about being able to properly step into their shoes; their goal is to do them appropriate justice.
Don’t miss out seeing Pantera during their epic reunion tour. It kicks off in Mexico at Hell and Heaven Metal Fest in December and will storm its way through South America, before heading to Europe in May 2023.
