Adam Lambert has covered Billie Eilish's track 'Getting Older' for his upcoming album 'High Drama'. The former 'American Idol' star chose the song after finding the lyrics to be "pretty profound" and relatable to people of any age.

“I was listening to the lyrics and I was like, ‘How did a 19-year-old land on this feeling that I feel at 40, and that I’m sure someone feels at 30?’ It’s a universal feeling, the idea of getting older. All of the things she talks about in the song are timeless, you can be any age and feel that way. I thought that was pretty profound.”

Lambert also covers songs by Lana Del Rey, Sia and Kings of Leon on the album. In an interview with NME, Lambert explained his approach to covering Lana Del Rey's song 'West Coast', saying that he wanted to make his version "electric and harder" and channel the style of Led Zeppelin. Lambert, who has been performing with Queen since 2012, also admitted to using Freddie Mercury's boozy vocal technique while recording 'West Coast'.

“Freddie prepared his voice by having a shot of vodka and recording his vocal in one take.

“I had tequila instead of vodka, then I sang this raw and Led Zeppelin-like version of Lana’s song – in one take too.”

The 'High Drama' LP is set to release on February 24, 2023.
