Robbie Williams banned from BBC Radio 1
- in Latest
Despite Robbie Williams’ new single Candy looking as though it will probably hit the number one spot this week, the song has apparently been banned from Radio 1.
This is apparently because of the singer’s age and claims that he is too old to be relevant to the station’s target audience of 15-29 year olds.
Insiders at the station have admitted that he is not on their playlists but deny the claims that it is because of his age but more a case of his relevance to their audience.
Surely if the single reaches number one, it must be fairly relevant? Regardless, if the song does reach number one then Radio 1 will be forced to play the song.
