Mimi Webb, the breakout singer-songwriter, has released an updated version of her hit track “Last Train To London” featuring FINNEAS, the Grammy Award-winning musician. The original version of the song was included in her debut album Amelia, which was released last month. FINNEAS has added his own touch to the track by incorporating warmer and organic piano production to the poignant ballad. The new version of the song is now available for streaming, accompanied by an official music video directed by Joe Connor.
Mimi expressed her excitement about working with FINNEAS, stating that his take on the song was perfect and that she wanted to share it with the world as soon as she heard it. The music video for “Last Train To London (I Won’t Look Back)” features sweeping visuals of the moody countryside and voyeuristic shots of people on board a warmly lit train. The video takes viewers with Mimi as she moves on from heartbreak and eventually leaves her failed love behind.
Mimi’s debut album Amelia has received critical acclaim, with Rolling Stone describing it as “a vibrant, nostalgic record of her coming-of-age voyage to self-love” and V Magazine applauding her as “a fiery vocalist setting the pop sphere on fire.” In just two years, Mimi has racked up over 1 billion global streams and multiple chart-topping tracks, including “House on Fire,” “Good Without,” and her latest hit “Red Flags.” She has also performed at high-profile events like the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in London and on various talk shows.
Mimi was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2023 BRIT Awards and will be performing at several festivals this year, including Lollapalooza Paris and Reading and Leeds Festival. The 12-track Amelia album expands on Mimi’s signature sound of breakup bops and sentimental ballads, featuring upbeat anthems like “Red Flags” and “Freezing” and poignant tracks like “Roles Reversed.”
