Country music artist Chris Young is gearing up for the release of his latest single, "Young Love & Saturday Nights," on Friday, July 21. The song, co-produced by Young, Corey Crowder, and Chris DeStefano, features a guitar lick inspired by David Bowie's "Rebel Rebel," with Bowie credited as a writer alongside Ashley Gorley, Jesse Frasure, and Josh Thompson.
Young shared his enthusiasm for the new track, stating, "When I first heard this song, I immediately connected with the groove and the lyrics, which touch on many personal experiences. It brought back memories of when I first started playing country dive bars, driving to and from gigs in my beat-up truck, hoping the audiences would relate... and if I'm being honest, hoping the girls would like it too. 'Young love and Saturday nights' are a classic combination, and this feels like one of those big summer songs that you just want to roll the windows down, crank up the volume, and drive around to."
Notably, "Young Love & Saturday Nights" marks David Bowie's first venture into country music. It also represents the first collaboration as co-producers for Young, Crowder, and DeStefano.
The single was recorded at the recently renovated Sony Music Publishing Studios Nashville, where many iconic albums from notable artists like Brooks & Dunn, Tracy Lawrence, Big & Rich, and more have been produced. Chris Young holds the distinction of being the first major artist to record in the updated studio.
"Young Love & Saturday Nights" follows Young's current single, "Looking For You," which he co-wrote with Chris DeStefano, James McNair, and Emily Weisband. The song is steadily climbing the Billboard Country and Mediabase radio charts, currently sitting in the Top 15.
