Mega, a musician from north London, possesses a unique ability to connect with audiences on a profound level. Her voice and lyrics are infused with empathy and optimism for the world. These qualities have reached an expanding audience, leading to performances alongside artists such as Self Esteem, Angèle, Hozier, and Nathan Rateliff, as well as airtime on Radio 1, Radio 2, and Radio 5. Following her recent return with 'Don’t Get Too Close,' Mega continues to push UK soul music into a new phase with her latest single, 'Let You Down.' Both tracks will be featured on her upcoming third EP. Listen to it below.

Opening with a hypnotic guitar twang, 'Let You Down' is quickly enhanced by melodic piano and graceful rhythms. Yet, it's Mega's distinctive voice that defines the song. Her vocals convey a blend of inspiration and tenderness, reminding us of the importance of trusting our instincts and self-confidence in various life situations.

Mega explains, “Among all the noise and madness of life, sometimes it can be difficult to identify our own voices, or to hear what that inner voice is saying, particularly whilst attempting to block out the noise and negative voices of others. When we feel lost it can be particularly difficult to have faith in our own capabilities. ‘Let You Down’ is a reminder that voice never leaves us and to trust yourself.”

Produced by Mega and Ed Riches (Bilal), 'Let You Down' was co-written with Alex Davies (Galantis).

Mega's journey began when she joined an opera choir at the age of 8, and her passion for singing grew as she became a member of a gospel choir at St. Mary’s youth club, which boasts alumni like Leona Lewis and Little Simz. By her early teens, she was already in contact with producers, setting the stage for her music career upon leaving secondary school. However, life took an unexpected turn. While performing, Mega realized something was amiss. After a few weeks, her vocal issues worsened, leading her on a medical journey that suggested she might never sing again.

Instead of succumbing to despair, Mega charted a new course. She pursued a psychology degree in university, discovering other passions beyond singing. After two years, Mega regained her ability to sing, essentially relearning her own voice. Her debut single 'Chariot' showcased her talents, reflecting resilience after pain and the celebration of second chances.

Mega's UK and European tour kicks off next month, with her London show upgraded to Hoxton Hall due to the rapid sell-out of the initial Lower Third venue. Tickets for the shows are available here.
