Christopher Maloney has caused yet more drama behind the scenes on the X Factor.

The Liverpudlian who is a firm favourite with fans of the show has caused show bosses to lose their temper with him after repeatedly turning up late for rehearsals in between the live shows.

Now, insiders of the show have claimed that one of the show’s producers, Mark Sidway has completely lost his temper with the temperamental singer branding his repeated lateness “fucking unacceptable”.

There are rumours that his attack towards Maloney is all part of a bigger plan for the show. Producers of the show are under constant pressure to boost ratings but as Christopher goes through week after week and more popular acts are being voted off, there are fears that him staying might lower rating even further.

A source at the show has told The Mirror that Sidway’s attack on Maloney was unfair saying: “Chris walked in a few minutes late and he was swearing and being aggressive.

“Chris was banned from seeing his family before Sunday’s show. It hurt him and made him consider if he should carry on. Others are late and nothing is said.”

It is thought that this may be part of a plan to get Maloney to walk off the show.

A spokesperson of the X Factor denied that Christopher is being singled out any more than other contestants on the show saying: “Chris was an hour late on Sunday and it is not the first time.

"Contestants often are unable to see their families due to rehearsal commitments. He is not being singled out.”
