Now, Lex takes a significant step forward in her music career with the release of her latest single, 'Own Advice,' as she prepares to launch her debut EP, 'I've Got Something To Say.' Listen to it below.
'Own Advice' delivers a message of sisterly guidance wrapped in a burst of pure pop delight, sure to resonate with fans of artists like Mimi Webb and Julia Michaels. As the title suggests, the song is born from Lex's personal experiences. Like many young people, she confesses to struggling with avoiding her own reflection and feeling overwhelmed by the unrealistically retouched images of beauty that flood social media. Instead, Lex encourages us to look within and discover our unique qualities, empowering the vulnerable within us to become the best versions of ourselves.
In Lex's own words, "'Own Advice' is dedicated to my younger self and anyone who may be grappling with feelings of inadequacy. It's meant to empower and guide people through their challenges, helping them realise that the world is much more than the idealized version we see online."
Lex co-wrote 'Own Advice' with Ben Cavanagh, and the track's production was handled by SAYITAGAIN.
Lex's journey is one of resilience and self-discovery. She faced severe bullying while growing up and battled with subsequent mental health issues. Nevertheless, she fought back and made history as the first teenage model to walk the runways of London, Paris, New York, and Los Angeles fashion weeks. Her fashion editorial and brand support have come from respected names like Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Tatler, Gymshark, Next, St. Tropez, River Island, and Pepe Jeans.
But Lex's ambitions extend beyond the fashion world. She aims to provide the support and guidance she desperately needed growing up, channeling her experiences into her music. Her early releases tackle issues like body positivity, dealing with online haters, heartache, and the uplifting reminder that 'We'll Be OK.' She's already garnered the support of BBC Introducing and graced the stage at new artist showcases such as New Music Monday at The Ned, Peachy, and Jodie Bryant's Discover Live. Lex even partnered with one of her favorite artists, Anne-Marie, to promote the release of Anne-Marie's book 'You Deserve Better.'
