Dreamer’ vocalist Janice Robinson has today paid tribute to Record Exec Phil Quartararo who sadly passed away on Wednesday morning aged 67.

Janice had a huge hit in the 1990s with Livin’ Joy and the track Dreamer. She then went on as a solo artist signed by Phil and Warner Records, going on to tour with Lionel Richie and Tina Turner after she hand-picked her from seeing her perform, appearing on Charmed, opening for Oprah Winfrey’s Oxygen brand. She also toured with New Kids On The Block and sung as the live touring vocalist for Snap! who had hits including ‘The Power’.  More recently, she appeared on The X Factor in 2018 in the UK and has just finished touring a sell out string of shows with iconic global Ministry Of Sound around England.

"I woke up on Thanksgiving morning and received the heartbreaking news that Phil Q had passed away, for those of you who don’t know who Phil Qurtararo is he is one of the kindest music industry executives who helped launch the careers of epic iconic artists and he signed me to Warner Bros Records while he was the president" -Janice Robinson.

Known as “Phil Q,” he helped to break U2 on pop radio in the mid-’80s as senior vp of promotion at Island Records, engineering the Spice Girls’ marketing plan in the ’90s as CEO/president of Virgin Records America, and working over the years with Madonna, Coldplay, The Smashing Pumpkins, Faith Hill and Green Day.

Janice shared the message on Instagram.
