Orbital Set to Reissue 1991 Debut Album Ahead of The Green & Brown Album Tour

Pioneering electronic music duo Orbital is gearing up to reissue their iconic 1991 debut album, 'The Green Album,' in anticipation of The Green & Brown Album Tour. Originally released on September 30, 1991, the album features landmark tracks like the breakthrough single 'Chime' and the enduring comedown classic 'Belfast.' The comprehensive reissue package includes early favorites such as 'Satan' and previously unreleased tracks, making it a must-have for fans of Orbital.

In addition to 'The Green Album' reissue, Orbital will revisit their pre-Green Album EPs with a series of 'Orbital LED’s' (Limited Edition Drops). These fully remastered versions of the original 12” EP series will feature new artwork, and fans will be notified about these highly limited releases on the release day.

Following the success of 'Chime,' Pete Tong signed Orbital to London/ffrr Records, providing the Hartnoll brothers the freedom to create the album they envisioned. Unlike their contemporaries in the rave circuit, Orbital wanted to explore wider textures, different rhythms, and stranger mind spaces, aiming for the creation of a satisfying full album. This ambition led Orbital to become giants of electronic music, influencing artists across genres and collaborating with the likes of Madonna, Kraftwerk, and Professor Brian Cox.

After 'The Green Album,' their second self-titled album – aka 'The Brown Album' – solidified Orbital's position as musical visionaries. Over the years, they ventured into creating soundtracks for Hollywood films and maintained their reputation as one of the best live acts globally.

Now, 33 years since its initial release and over a decade since its last vinyl pressing, the remastered 'Green Album' arrives ahead of the updated ‘The Green + Brown Album Tour.’ This tour will see Orbital revisit and reinterpret both albums in their entirety, performing several tracks live for the first time. The tour kicks off in New York in March, with Orbital appearing at Coachella Festival in California on April 13th and 20th before returning for the UK leg.

Since reuniting with London Records, Orbital has released the 2022 compilation ’30 Something’ and the critically acclaimed studio album 'Optical Delusion' in 2023, marking a significant resurgence in their career.
