Gary Barlow picks up OBE from the Queen
- in Latest

Gary Barlow visited the Queen today, not just as a social visit of course but to accept his OBE.
The X Factor and Take That star was bursting with pride as he picked up his award which was given to him for his services to the entertainment industry.
Barlow has a long list of achievements that contributed to him getting the award. As well as being front man of Take That, which are widely regarded as one of Britain’s most successful boy bands ever, and being head judge on the X Factor, he has also organised many events for charity. Last year he spearheaded a Children in Need campaign as well as organising the Jubilee Concert.
As well as this, he is also an accomplished songwriter having written for Matt Cardle, Westlife and Marcus Collins and well as for himself and long term friend/enemy Robbie Williams.
The Queen herself has had a very busy week brushing shoulders with the stars. As well as meeting Gary Barlow, she has also met Girls Aloud and One Direction at the Royal Variety Performance.
Both still have a long way go before they rack up as many years in the business as Barlow who has been around since his Take That days which kicked off 21 years ago.
