Susan Boyle has been trending on Twitter for all the wrong reasons.

The singer, who shot to fame on Britain’s got Talent is now very red faced after her PR team put up the hashtag #susanalbumparty. Instead of reading it as Susan-Album-Party, many Twitter users interpreted it as Sus Anal Bum Party.

It wasn’t long before the unfortunate hashtag was trending despite the fact that the account only has 7000 followers.

Many famous faces got in on the act, increasing the popularity of the Tweet quickly. Capital radio DJ Lisa Snowdon posted: “I don’t think Susan Boyle’s record company thought this hash tag thru properly...” on her own Twitter account.

Suffice to say, the Tweet was promptly deleted by the people running SuBo’s Twitter account and now has been replaced by teh much safer hashtag #StandingOvation.

Many users of Twitter are wondering if the stunt was in fact an accident as Subo’s team is maintaining or if it was part of a more elaborate plan to get people talking about the singer’s new album ‘Standing Ovation’.

Whether the intentions were innocent or not, it seems to have worked well for them.

‘Standing Ovation’ is a compilation of songs from stage plays and contains songs such as Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Memory and You’ll Never Walk Alone.
