Simon Cowell is reportedly planning a massive shake up of the X Factor for the next series. The biggest change will be to the voting system with the figures being released each week.

Up until now, the results of who has won the vote each week is only announced once the series is over.

Cowell has started the new system on the US version of the show already where there is a league table at the end of each results show.

An insider at the show told The Sun: "If the viewers knew popular acts like Ella and James Arthur were pulling in low numbers of votes it would encourage them to pick up the phone.

"Revealing the voting numbers each week has really brought a new dynamic to the US show.

"Simon is looking to introduce it in the UK next year as part of a major shake-up."

This year on the show there have been a lot of shock results such as the elimination of favourite to win Ella Henderson last weekend. It is hoped that if they bring this new system of showing the results each week, then shock results like that will be avoided next year.
