Justin Bieber has been left red faced after an on-stage stunt went a little bit wrong

The Canadian teen sensation was pelted with iPhone's as he performed at Madison Square Gardens but far from being the act of aggression that many people across the world would love to see aimed at him, it was actually an attempt for his fans to get closer to him.

‘Beliebers’ as his fans are known were trying to get Bieber to take a picture of himself using their phones, which he did with the first one that was thrown onstage. The gimmick quickly got out of hand when multiple fans started pelting him with their phones, prompting Bieber to vow never to do it again.

Also appearing at the gig was fellow Canadian Carly Rae Jepsen and The Wanted, who are becoming hugely popular in the US.

Earlier this week paternity claims that were previously bought up against the 18 year old last year re-surfaced. A lawyer acting on behalf of a teenager that claims that Bieber is the father of her child has spoken out to say that a sufficient DNA sample was never provided.

Bieber strongly denies ever meeting her, let alone being the father of her child saying: "It's crazy. Every night after the show I'm gone right from the stage right to the car, so it's crazy that some people want to make such false allegations. To set the record straight, none of it is true."
