JUST ANNOUNCED – NEW ARTISTS ADDED TO THE LINE UP

In one final announcement before Boardmasters gets underway, seven new acts have been added to the line-up, completing the bill for 2024. Mercury Prize nominee and Cornwall favourite Nick Mulvey is set for the stage as Sunday’s special guest. Plus, r’n’b superstar Mahalia joins the line-up along with DJ Jack Saunders, live phenomenon and the producer who burst onto the scene with Cola (in collaboration with Camelphat) Elderbook, as well as indie pop sensation Liz Lawrence, DJ Jaguar Skills and Baxter.

BOARDMASTERS ... REIMAGINED! EXPLORE THE SITE

This year, the Boardmasters festival site has had a bit of a refresh, with five carefully curated areas to explore, each filled with an array of unique music stages (11 in total!) and more.

The Main Arena is where fans can find the Main Stage, where this year’s headliners Chase & Status, Sam Fender and Stormzy will dazzle crowds along with a whole host of other incredible artists. What’s more, within the Main Arena is a new addition for 2024 - The Bandstand. This is the place for discovering a wealth of local talent as the most exciting emerging artists take to the stage,

For high octane DJs sets playing into the early hours, The Dockyard is the place to be. Here, festival goers can find Boardies favourite DB90 - the home of drum’n’bass, as well as another new venue for 2024, the Lifeguard Tower which will play host to DJ sets as well as graffiti battles from Graffiators taking place across the weekend and transforming the area into a vibrant canvas.

Over at the North Shore, The View is simply not to be missed. The clue is in the name - this stage boasts one of Boardmasters’ most spectacular views, looking out across the panoramic Watergate Bay. This is the place to go to check out new and upcoming artists in an unparalleled setting. Fans can also check out Surf Club ‘81 here. Riding a wave of nostalgia, this area is Boardmasters’ own take on a classic surf shack with a stylish 80s twist, offering sunsets by day and unapologetically cheesy singalongs by night.

Fans will know and love the Land of Saints and its big top under the same name. This area features live music that has an independent spirit and kicks hard with the likes of Nia Archives, Kenya Grace, Maisie Peters and Overmono performing this year. It’s also where festivalgoers can discover the Boardies legend of the Keg & Pasty, the festival’s own pub positioned atop cliffs overlooking the breathtaking Watergate Bay. It’s the ultimate spot to enjoy the array of stand-ups and musicians who perform here, with a golden hand-crafted pasty in hand.

Paradise Lost is the new home of The Point presented by Smirnoff, the place where the party runs late into the night as the most hyped cutting-edge DJs take to the decks. And this year is no different with Sammy Virgi, Eliza Rose and Ewan McVicar on the bill. Plus, in this corner of Boardmasters, fans can also find the Unleashed stage presented by Drip, where club-land and major arena acts collide for the biggest indoor rave in the South West. Two-step the night away to high octane dance and big bassline beats, with the likes of Girls Don’t Sync, Hannah Laing and Hedex & Eksman.

THE UK’S BIGGEST SILENT DISCO IS BACK - NOW TAKING PLACE ACROSS ALL FIVE NIGHTS!

This year, Boardmasters silent disco returns once again. Firmly a fan favourite, Boardmasters will be serving up the healthiest dose of sing-along goodness yet, as the UK’s biggest silent disco will take place across ALL - FIVE - NIGHTS for the first time ever. Starting Wednesday, the wee hours can be spent dancing and singing along to the biggest tracks from pop, indie, disco, dance and more.
This year, there’ll be some very special guests soundtracking the silent disco, with sets from Charlie Simpson, Rickie Melvin and Batille's Woody and Kyle. Plus, on Thursday each and every silent disco attendee is expected to get into fancy dress for a Beach Themed Party - rubber rings, silly sunglasses and loud hawaiian shirts at the ready!

Fans can guarantee their spot from just £7.50, plus a fully refundable £20 towards the headset which must be returned at the end of the weekend. Silent disco tickets are on sale now here!

In the campsite, festivalgoers can unwind in Boardmasters’ own Cornish sanctuary, Zennor Haven. This is the place to go to take a moment for self-care and wellness, with aromatherapy massage, or yoga in the Zen Den.

Lights, camera action! Boardmasters Cinema is back by popular demand. From light-hearted rom-coms in the morning, or late-night animation favourites after the headliners have come off stage, head to the free cinema to unwind to classic movies and more.

BOARDMASTERS OPEN SURF COMPETITION AT FISTRAL BEACH

Don’t miss the best in pro surfing, right here on the Cornish coast as the 2024 Boardmasters OPEN comes to the beautiful Fistral Beach. Fistral Beach is free to attend, so festivalgoers can simply get on the Boardmasters shuttle bus and head down to soak up the surf and watch some of the biggest names in international surfing take on the Cornish waves. These include Ben Skinner who’s just reached #3 on the WSL World Longboard Tour, #1 World Grom and local talent Lukas Skinner who recently won Silver in Europe as well as some of the best female talent including the exceptional Alys Barton and Emily Currie.

The competition marks the official launch of the European leg of the World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series. Professional surf talent will make a welcome return to compete in the BYD Pro (men and womens), Wild West Jerky Longboard Pro (men and womens) and of course the Boardmasters Junior Open (boys and girls) set to pit the next generation of groms against one another.

LEAVE ONLY FOOTPRINTS

Sustainability is a core part of the Boardmasters ethos and Leave Only Footprints is the festival’s continued pledge to reduce its overall environmental impact. Festivalgoers can help, too. Beach cleans will be taking place each day run by the Marine Conversation Society and supported by local community groups across four beaches; Fistral, Great Western, Porth & Watergate Bay. Boardmasters’ Green Team volunteers will be out en masse with more members than ever; spot them running the redeemable litter bond as well as campsite clean up parties winning spot prizes for visitors in Boilers. Once again this year, Boardmasters has banned single use plastics from the site; the reusable cup scheme will be in place and attendees are encouraged to make use of the 288 free water refill points located in the arena and campsites. Upon heading home, Boardmasters is calling on all attendees to follow the Leave Only Footprints message by simply clearing up properly and taking all tents home.

GREENER TRAVEL OPTIONS

As part of Boardmasters’ ongoing commitment to the environment and sustainability, Big Green Coach is back once again as Official Travel Partner as the festival further expands its green travel options. With Big Green Coach, attendees can choose from over 80 pickup points around the UK (with the service increased by a quarter), ensuring convenient access to the festival site. Day Ticket Holders can book a Day + Coach Package with pickups from 14 locations across the South West, including Bodmin, Cornwall Services, Exeter, Falmouth, Helston, Launceston, Liskeard, Okehampton, Penzance, Plymouth, Roche, St Austell, Treverbyn, and Truro. Coaches will arrive by 11am and depart after the headliners finish.
This year sees the introduction of the new Boardmasters Park & Ride service for day ticket holders, offering a hassle-free and budget-friendly travel option. Attendees can park their cars and be conveniently dropped off right at the festival gates. Buses to and from the Park & Ride will run from early morning until after the music finishes, operating on a simple tap and ride system.

For those arriving into Newquay train station, or wishing to travel between Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay, Boardmasters’ shuttle bus service will be in operation for £3.50 per single journey. This is the quickest way to reach Fistrall beach due to having access to closed roads.
