Metallica Seal Spotify Deal - Streaming Music From Every Album
- in Latest
Metallica have today announced that all music spanning across the guitar wielding band’s 30 year career is now available on Spotify.
Spotify users, starting immediately, are able to stream music from every single Metallica Album, Including Master of Puppets, The Black Album and Justice for All.
Lars Ulrich, Metallica’s Drummer, said about the deal:
“Metallica has always tried to be in control of the way we present our music to our fans, which is why we’ve waited to see the way these online retailers and streaming services operate and gauge the overall fan experience before deciding to include our music.
“We now feel that Spotify not only has a proven track record, but is by far the best music streaming service. We are beyond psyched to unleash our music through their platform.”
The move by Metallica is another in the list of high profile artists allowing their music to be included into Spotify. With the growing popularity of online streaming services more artists are seeing the potential benefits of negotiating a contract with platforms such as Spotify.
There are still some notable absences from the platform, with the likes of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers still not having any of their music available for streaming.
Although there are still a lot of artists missing, having such an established band such as Metallica move towards streaming services it can only spark more movement in the future.
