Harriet's passion for the grand melodies and storytelling of timeless ’70s pop is resonating with an ever-growing audience, leading to a string of sold-out shows and millions of views on her social media. With her new album, Trying To Get The Feeling Again, set for release on October 4th, Harriet has unveiled her latest track, Rainbow Connection. Listen below.

Originally popularized by Kermit the Frog in The Muppet Movie, Rainbow Connection was penned by Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher. The song, with its tender beauty reminiscent of When You Wish Upon a Star or Somewhere Over the Rainbow, taps into a universal human emotion, giving it a broad and lasting appeal. Harriet’s elegant rendition draws comparisons to The Carpenters' version, and it even earned praise from Paul Williams himself, who noted, “You have a remarkable gift.”

And it’s not just Paul Williams who’s impressed. Harriet’s teasers for the song have garnered 4.5 million views and nearly 200,000 likes, with many fans praising her voice and likening her to the legendary Karen Carpenter. The song has also sparked an outpouring of personal stories from listeners, sharing what Rainbow Connection means to them.

Reflecting on the track, Harriet says, “Rainbow Connection resonates with me deeply as an artist. Pursuing a music career requires resilience, and this song is about believing in yourself and having the courage to follow your passion, no matter what obstacles you face. It’s also about seeking a deeper connection with people and the world to better understand ourselves and each other. We aimed for an ethereal quality in my version, letting the lyrics and melody shine above all. I hope it uplifts and transports people.”

Other tracks on Trying To Get The Feeling Again have had a similar impact, with Yesterday Once More and Sailing receiving waves of admiration. Beyond Paul Williams, other Carpenters collaborators like John Bettis and David Pomeranz have expressed their admiration for Harriet, and Queen legend Brian May is also a fan.

The album serves as a time capsule, allowing fans to rediscover beloved music from the past, reinterpreted by an artist at the peak of her vocal ability. By blending these classics with select originals and engaging with younger audiences on TikTok, Harriet proves that nostalgia isn’t just for those who lived through it.

Trying To Get The Feeling Again is available for pre-order, with options for signed CDs, art cards, and new t-shirt designs.

After selling out all her headline shows this year, Harriet has a few performances left before supporting Will Young for three nights at London’s scenic Cadogan Hall. With 18 shows already confirmed for 2025, next year promises to be even bigger. Remaining tickets for her headline shows are available.
