Simon Cowell Snubs Idea of Christopher Maloney Having a Future in Music
- in Latest
X Factor boss Simon Cowell has apparently been busy making plans for the future careers of James Arthur and Jahmene Douglas but has snubbed Christopher Maloney entirely.
The Mirror interviewed Louis Walsh who is a close personal friend of Cowell and he revealed that he hadn't even mentioned Christopher.
“I spoke to him this week and I know he loves James and Jahmene but I don't remember him talking about Chris.”
Louis has publicly voiced his disdain towards Christopher saying: "He is a good singer, but I don't think he is a star. He is like Tony Christie. He is a great singer but he is not Tom Jones.
"Last week in the semi final on his first song he was good, especially if you close your eyes.
"But then I opened them – and he was there! Then when he did the Michael Buble song he was back to Chris the karaoke singer or cruise ship singer."
Christopher was once favourite with the bookies to win the show but a combination of bad press and similarly bad song choices each week has now meant that Jahmene and James have now overtaken him as joint favourites to win.
The show is still anyone’s of course but it is looking less and less likely that Christopher will win, despite him branding himself as the “public’s choice”.
He responded to claims that Simon Cowell doesn't like him by saying: "Simon does what he wants to do. It's his show and if he didn't want me in it I probably wouldn't be here."
