The final of the X Factor is looming but one of the acts is apparently in trouble.

Christopher Maloney has apparently been having trouble with his voice this week and resting it under the doctor’s orders which means that he won’t have had a full rehearsal of his performance before he goes on stage live on Saturday night.

According to The Mirror, he has only performed a few notes from his chosen songs and has been wearing a sign indicating that he is “on voice rest” during the rehearsals.

An insider said:  "Chris is putting on a brave face but it is unheard of not to sing a full version of a performance ahead of the final.

"Chris is now paranoid his voice will go and won't risk it."

As well as singing tracks on their own, the finalists will also be singing with their mentors which means that Christopher will be performing a duet with his mentor Gary Barlow. The pair will be performing Gary’s Take That hit Rule the World.

It is rumoured that Christopher was forced to perform the duet with Gary instead on having another big name star coming in because no one was willing to perform with him, seeing him as outdated and uncool.

All of the three finalists have recorded their winner’s song which they will release if they win but the song that has been chosen has not been revealed and is being kept a closely guarded secret until the acts perform it live this weekend.
