Christopher Maloney was kicked off the X Factor last night leaving Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur as the last two standing for the final.

Christopher had previously never been in the bottom two so seemed slightly shocked when it was announced that he would be leaving the competition.

He performed Irene Cara’s Flashdance... What a Feeling on his own as well as a duet with his mentor Gary Barlow with a rendition of his song with Take That, Rule the World.

Christopher has had a hard time through the competition coming under fire by the media for claims that he is a diva and has been two-faced during the show but mentor Barlow has always defended his act.

Last night, Barlow just seemed happy that his act had reached the final three saying: "Congratulations. Amazing. He's done brilliantly."

When he was given a bit of time to process the news that he was leaving the competition, Christopher told presenter Dermot O’Leary: "Do you know what, I feel like I've already won."

Of course, he has always been quite confident through the process; championing himself as the people’s choice. He later told the Xtra Factor: "I feel on top of the world. I feel like I've already won getting this far. I'm very proud, I was the Wildcard and I've come third and it's all down to the public vote."

So tonight, the competition is down to just two contestants and who will win is, as the X Factor voice over man always tells us, something “you decide”.
