Four-time GRAMMY nominee Kelsea Ballerini has just released her latest single, "First Rodeo," marking another exciting chapter in her evolving musical journey. The track is the latest offering from her forthcoming album, PATTERNS, set to drop on October 25th via Black River Entertainment.

Emerging from the emotional aftermath of her marriage, Ballerini’s new album reflects her journey toward healing and self-discovery. It embodies the complexities of life, including themes of loss, love, and laughter. “Always personal, always unabashed,” Ballerini has skillfully navigated the changing landscape of her life, seeking to convey the raw reality of growing up in a fast-paced world.

In crafting PATTERNS, Ballerini worked closely with a trusted team of creatives, including producer Alysa Vanderheym, Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Hillary Lindsey, GRAMMY-nominated songwriter Jessie Jo Dillon, and Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild. Together, they aimed to capture the essence of her journey—navigating loss, finding new love, and fostering authentic friendships.

"First Rodeo" follows the success of Ballerini’s previous single "Cowboys Cry Too," featuring Noah Kahan, which has nearly 90 million streams. This latest release presents a relatable narrative of a young woman confronting the vulnerabilities that arise after heartbreak. With its catchy melody, atmospheric cello arrangements, and Ballerini’s breathy vocals, the song encapsulates her heartfelt exploration of vulnerability and hope.

Reflecting on her journey, Ballerini shared, “There’s a reality that an inner monologue post-public breakup is, 'I feel washed up on the heart front.' But at the end of the day, choosing love is bigger, and the honesty of saying please take it slow and be patient with me can actually be a beautiful and connective moment.” First Rodeo embodies that pivotal conversation, capturing the essence of choosing openness and vulnerability.

To visually represent the song’s themes, Ballerini collaborated again with director Patrick Tracy to create a stunning music video. Filmed in picturesque locations—from a serene beach to a vintage carousel and a luxurious hotel room—the video emphasizes dreamy golden hour lighting, reflecting the wistful nature of the track.

With the excitement building around the release of PATTERNS, Ballerini is set to celebrate with a sold-out concert at Madison Square Garden. As a multiple award winner from both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music, she has a lot to celebrate as she prepares to share her most personal and powerful work yet.

“The visuals are meant to show the emotion, duality, feelings, and landscape of this record,” she said. “I can’t wait to play this record live and see how it all connects outside of my own journey. Until then, I feel like First Rodeo is the perfect final taste of the storyline and heart of PATTERNS.”

As Kelsea Ballerini embarks on this new chapter, fans can look forward to her authentic storytelling and a deeper connection with her music in the coming year.
