Multi-Platinum country sensation Cody Johnson has just released his much-anticipated Leather Deluxe Edition, a deluxe expansion of his acclaimed Leather album, which first debuted last November. With an impressive 25 tracks in total—13 of which are brand-new recordings—Leather Deluxe Edition, produced by long-time collaborator Trent Willmon, is now available on vinyl and across all digital platforms.
The project is highlighted by the powerful debut single, “I’m Gonna Love You,” a duet with Carrie Underwood that premiered on iHeartRadio in September. Already making its way up the charts, the single’s music video, directed by award-winning filmmaker Dustin Haney, was shot across Wells, Nevada, and Nashville, Tennessee. Fans can get a glimpse behind the scenes of the video production, which launched earlier this week, with a behind-the-scenes featurette released online. Johnson also dropped a lyric video for his new track “Overdue,” available now.
Currently on his electrifying “Leather Tour,” Johnson is packing out venues, boasting 29 sold-out shows across the nation. The tour will culminate in a special performance on November 9 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, home of the Texas Rangers. This milestone concert will set the stage for his upcoming “Leather Deluxe Tour,” which kicks off on January 17, 2025. Joining him on select dates next year are Grammy-winner Ashley McBryde, Drew Baldridge, Chayce Beckham, Randy Houser, and Walker Montgomery.
In spring 2025, Johnson is also set to take his high-energy stage show overseas, with performances scheduled in Australia and New Zealand around major country festivals like C2C Festival and CMC Rocks. Special guests for his international shows include Cole Swindell, Ashley Cooke, and Wade Forster.
Billboard’s Jessica Nicholson highlighted Johnson’s dynamic rise in country music, noting how his "steady-handed touring and his hard-charging, energetic stage show” have solidified his reputation as a leading voice in traditional country.
Adding to his accomplishments, Johnson recently earned five nominations at the upcoming 58th Annual CMA Awards. His nods include Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for Leather, Single of the Year for “Dirt Cheap,” and dual nominations in the Music Video of the Year category for “The Painter” and “Dirt Cheap.” A two-time CMA Award winner, Johnson will compete for top honors at the event, set to broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on November 20 on ABC, with a Hulu encore the following day.
With a powerful voice, a new deluxe album, and a relentless touring schedule, Cody Johnson continues to cement his place as a torchbearer for traditional country music. Fans can catch his unique storytelling and raw energy live on tour or across streaming platforms with Leather Deluxe Edition out now.
