JUNO-Award Winning band, The Bros. Landreth, officially release their cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Bird on a Wire”, earlier in the year they had released their live session in-studio music video version of the track. Now, in advance of the release of their live album, for you, live, they bring their touching rendition to streaming platforms.

Of the track, The Bros. note “this song speaks for itself, an absolute masterpiece by one of the greatest to ever do it, Leonard Cohen”. Joey Landreth adds he’s been “singing this song since about 2017. I had first heard it on the KD Lang record, Hymns of the 49th Parallel. It has always held a spot in my heart and I always love playing it!”.  David Landreth mentions, “we didn’t really talk about what songs we were going to do in this particular session, Joey just launched into this one and we were lucky enough to have the camera and ProTools running. In the video you can see me in the back trying my hardest not to cry.”

About the album, The Bros. Landreth note “the ‘for you, live’ sessions are recordings of us doing something we love,” whether in the studio, their living rooms, the porch or backyard, they’re singing and playing their “favourite songs in their favourite places”. Joey Landreth’s partner and long–time behind the scenes collaborator, Anna, helped bring the vision to life and stepped behind the camera to shape these intimate performances. “We wanted to try and capture what it sounds like when we approach these songs simply and comfortably.
