UK folk-rock rising stars Bailey Tomkinson & The Locals continue their breakout year with the release of Moonshine, a heartfelt track capturing the timeless West Coast sound. Following the success of their single Chrysalis, which soared to #2 on the iTunes Country chart, the band cements their status as the UK’s answer to Daisy Jones & The Six.
Moonshine weaves themes of love and longing with Bailey’s Stevie Nicks-esque vocals, backed by an evocative blend of country slide guitar and driving rhythms. Bailey explains, “Moonshine’ is a tale about love, longing, and the ache of waiting for someone to come back. The first time we performed it, the connection with the audience was intense, as if we were all waiting together. In the studio, we wanted to capture that honesty and vulnerability. Every note speaks to that intense yearning, and we’re excited for listeners to feel it in their own way.”
Produced by Joshia Manning, the song showcases the band’s musical chemistry, formed within Cornwall’s vibrant Kernowfornia scene. Inspired by icons like Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles, the group thrives on live performances, having supported acts like Keane and Simple Minds and played festivals like Black Deer and Boardmasters.
With Moonshine, Bailey Tomkinson & The Locals continue to bring ‘70s folk-rock to contemporary audiences. Listen now.
