Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Kip Moore is set to release his most ambitious project yet. His sixth studio album, Solitary Tracks, will debut on February 28 via Virgin Music Group. The expansive album features 23 tracks spread over four sides, making it a monumental addition to Moore’s career. Described as a deeply resonant opus, Solitary Tracks embodies Moore’s adventurous spirit and unwavering commitment to authenticity.
In conjunction with the album announcement, Moore is releasing the official music video for his new single, “Bad Spot”, today at 4 PM GMT. The song is a soulful, piano-driven confession of a weathered soul finding maturity, showcasing Moore’s introspective artistry. The accompanying video brings the track to life, revealing a contemplative and poignant narrative.
I’m never going to cheat by just trying to write what I think people want to hear, or hold onto a sound that worked for me,” Moore said. “I’m going to always be authentic with myself, with every record, and all I ever hope is that people find a little solace. This project is a journey in itself, so I hope it helps people navigate their own life".
The album marks a bold new chapter for Moore, who has spent months teasing its release with tracks like the “blistering” “Live Here to Work” (hailed by Billboard) and the “gritty, rough, and rowdy” “Learning As I Go” (Whiskey Riff). Other pre-released songs, including the “heartfelt anthem” “Flowers in December” and its paired track “Wildfire”, have hinted at the album’s depth and versatility.
Moore’s determination to forge ahead, both musically and personally, defines Solitary Tracks. The album reflects his solitary artistic journey, with themes of self-discovery, personal growth, and resilience woven throughout. Co-produced by Moore alongside Jaren Johnston, Oscar Charles, and Jay Joyce, the record marks a shift in Moore’s creative process, blending soulful introspection with raw, roots-inspired production.
“There’s no pattern you have to follow, and sometimes you gotta gamble on yourself,” Moore explained. “You gotta be bold enough to trust your gut, and willing to roll those dice if you believe in something.”
The album features standout collaborations and songwriting contributions from renowned talents. Highlights include:
- “Bad Spot” – A piano-led, deeply personal ballad showcasing Moore’s weathered yet hopeful perspective.
- “Flowers in December” – A tender anthem paired with the smoldering “Wildfire” that dives into themes of love and loss.
- “Learning As I Go” – A gritty, reflective track charting Moore’s personal growth.
- “Solitary Tracks” – The album’s title track, co-written by Moore, Dan Couch, and Brett James, encapsulates the album’s overarching theme of resilience.
To celebrate the release, Moore will embark on the Solitary Tracks World Tour, beginning in Europe this spring. The tour will take him to major cities across Sweden, Norway, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the UK, with stops at venues like the OVO Hydro Arena in Glasgow and the O2 Brixton Academy in London.
Known as a genre-defying artist and one of country music’s most thoughtful voices, Moore has built a career rooted in authenticity. With over 1 billion streams and a reputation as a dynamic live performer, he continues to push boundaries and connect deeply with fans worldwide.
Solitary Tracks promises to be a defining chapter in Moore’s illustrious career, cementing his place as a creative force willing to take risks and stay true to his vision. Fans can pre-order or pre-save the album now and prepare for a musical journey unlike any other.
