Nina Nesbitt has released her version of ‘Caledonia’, a beloved Scottish anthem that fans have been asking for since she teased it on social media. The release comes just in time for her performance at BBC Scotland’s Burns Night celebrations on January 25th, a special event honouring Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns.

Originally written by Dougie Maclean in 1978, ‘Caledonia’ is a song that resonates deeply with Scots at home and abroad. Over the years, it has been covered by artists such as Paolo Nutini, Amy Macdonald, and KT Tunstall. Nina’s heartfelt rendition adds her own touch while staying true to its timeless spirit. The accompanying lyric video, featuring stunning Scottish landscapes, reflects the song’s emotional connection to home.

As a Scot currently living far away from home, ‘Caledonia’ is a song that means so much to me. It instantly transports me back to the place I grew up and reminds me how proud I am to be Scottish. It's an honour to finally cover this song and share my own version, as so many Scottish artists have done in the past.

Nina is also celebrating a big year in her career. Her 2024 album ‘Mountain Music’ received widespread praise, topping the UK’s Official Folk Albums Chart. Later this month, she’s set to appear at the Americana Music Awards UK, where she’s nominated for Album of the Year (‘Mountain Music’) and Song of the Year (‘Pages’).
