In the wake of the devastating wildfires sweeping across Los Angeles County, the Crew Nation Global Relief Fund has pledged $1 million to assist performing musicians, live music crew, and industry workers directly affected by the disaster. The wildfires, among the largest natural disasters in U.S. history, have displaced countless residents and caused extensive damage throughout the region.
Established by Live Nation Entertainment in 2020, Crew Nation has long been a lifeline for those in the live music industry experiencing unforeseen hardships. To address the current crisis, the fund has opened applications for grants of up to $5,000 to individuals employed within the industry who are facing displacement expenses due to mandatory evacuation orders, property damage, or loss.
L.A. is home to so many who help make live music possible, and Crew Nation is continuing its core mission of helping this hardworking community through unforeseen hardship"
Said Michael Rapino, President and CEO of Live Nation Entertainment.
Beyond Crew Nation's efforts, Live Nation is providing additional support to impacted employees at its Los Angeles headquarters through its Taking Care of Our Own program. The company is also partnering to produce and promote FireAid, a benefit concert scheduled for Thursday, January 30, aimed at raising funds to rebuild communities and enhance fire prevention efforts across Southern California.
Originally launched during the pandemic when live events were paused, Crew Nation has distributed assistance to over 16,000 live music workers worldwide, with funding bolstered by a $10 million contribution from Live Nation and $8 million raised through artists, fans, and industry partners. While live music has largely rebounded, the fund continues its mission with ongoing initiatives, including a recent $5 million pledge through the On The Road Again program.
To support live music workers impacted by the L.A. wildfires, donations to Crew Nation can be made via its 501(c)(3) status. More information, including grant applications, can be found at Crew Nation.
As the music community rallies together during this time of crisis, Crew Nation remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring that those who bring live music to life are not left behind.
