- in Latest
Lostprophets have responded to allegations of child sex offences against their front man Ian Watkins and have shown that they are equally as surprised as the public.
The band made an official statement through their website saying: “Following charges made today against Ian Watkins, we find ourselves in a state of shock. We are learning about the details of the investigation along with you. It is a difficult time for us and our families, and we want to thank our fans for their support as we seek answers. Jamie, Lee, Luke, Mike and Stu.”
All other content has been removed from the website for time being.
The charges that Watkins stands accused of have been released in more detail and include conspiracy to rape a girl under the age of 13, who has now been revealed to be only one.
According to The Mirror, he is also accused of possessing pornography involving animals which has been described as “extreme”.
Watkins is being held in custody until he appears at Cardiff Crown Court on 31st December after a bail application placed by his mother was rejected.
All future Lostprophets gigs have been immediately cancelled and the future of the bands remains uncertain.
