Alice Cooper Rises Again: The Original Band Reunites for First Album in 50 Years

For the first time in over five decades, the original Alice Cooper group—the band that redefined shock rock in the '70s with guillotines, glam, and gut-punch riffs—has reunited for a brand new studio album. Titled The Revenge of Alice Cooper, the album lands July 25th via earMUSIC, and it’s shaping up to be a hell-raising return to the sinister swagger that made them legends.
Billed as the spiritual successor to era-defining classics like Love It to Death, Killer, School’s Out, and Billion Dollar Babies, this new release sees Alice Cooper, Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway, and Neal Smith reconnecting with longtime producer Bob Ezrin in an old-school Connecticut studio to recapture the explosive chemistry that fueled their rise in the early '70s.
And they’re not easing in quietly. The first single, “Black Mamba”, dropped today—and it bites. Featuring a guest appearance from Robby Krieger of The Doors, the track slithers in with venomous guitar licks and a coiled menace that fans of classic Cooper will recognize instantly. It’s shock rock with fangs, drenched in theatrical grit and heavy with the promise that this reunion is no nostalgia trip—it’s a full-blown resurrection.
But The Revenge of Alice Cooper is more than just a comeback. It’s a bridge between the past and present, and nowhere is that more profound than on “What Happened to You,” a track that features a posthumous appearance by original guitarist Glen Buxton. Using an unreleased guitar recording from before his death in 1997, the band brings Buxton back into the fold—his snarling tone resurrected and embedded into a brand-new track like a séance set to tape.
In another nod to their legacy, the limited-edition box set and “smart format” versions of the album include a long-lost alternate take of 1970’s “Return of the Spiders.” Pulled from original multi-tracks missing for 50 years, this raw gem has been reanimated and mixed by Ezrin for its first-ever release.
If the album’s tracklist is any indication—with titles like “Wild Ones”, “See You on the Other Side”, and “Black Mamba”—this record promises to be a high-octane blend of haunting melodies, horror-fueled theatrics, and vintage rebellion.
For fans who’ve waited since Billion Dollar Babies for a true reunion, this is more than a new album. It’s vindication. It’s memory and mischief. It’s Alice Cooper, back with the band that started it all—looking death in the face and turning it into an encore.
