Tidal putting on charity concert - New World Foundation
Troubled streaming service Tidal is to put on a massive charity concert featuring top Tidal- aligned artists.
The concert will be streamed live to both subscribers and non-subscribers on 20th October and is aimed at raising money for the new world foundation.
The streaming service's boss Jay-Z will be headlining along with Beyonce and will also feature well over twenty other acts including Nicki Minaj, Prince and Lil Wayne.
Jay-Z bought Tidal earlier this year and it has since been used as a platform to air exclusives from artists such as Prince and Lil Wayne. Their involvement appears to be beneficial to the artists themselves and the decision to put on such a high profile charity concert appears to be a way to get Tidal noticed.
When it was launched, Tidal enjoyed a star-studded bash which showed the world that artists were routing for the service. It was the musician's streaming service. Although putting on a charity concert is a great thing to do and I'm sure many people will benefit from the money raised, it still seems as though Jay-Z and the other artists associated with Tidal are simply trying to hard.
