Louis Tomlinson has officially become the first member of One Direction to become a father.

The singer’s baby son was born on Friday and naturally Louis took to Twitter to announce the news, saying that the baby is "healthy and pretty amazing".

He tweeted: "I'm pleased to say my baby son was born yesterday... He is healthy and pretty amazing... I'm very happy!!"

He later added, "Daddy, daddy cool."

Whilst Louis was seen around the hospital whilst former partner Briana Jungwirth was in labour, rumours suggest that he may have been banned from the room by Jungworth’s mother after the pair reportedly had a falling out.

Briana’s grandmother however tweeted: "Louis just let Ur (your) heart dance. U (you) now have another you. A gift that will want to be just like YOU (sic).

"Love him & my young grandchild that gave him to you. Let her know she's special. She just wanted to love U (sic) not even knowing who U (sic) were or your profile Ur (sic) & reputation. Be free & just live. It's simple. Not complex."

Louis’ One Direction bandmates have been tight lipped about the subject so far although Harry Styles tweeted "Flowers all round” on Friday.
