Pearl Jam Delay Release of New Album Until 2019

The highly anticipated new album from American rock band Pearl Jam has been delayed until 2019. They have already released a single from what will be their eleventh studio album, despite the fact that it won’t be finished until next year, due to their touring commitments.
The single “Can’t Deny Me” caused some controversy with lyrics that openly criticise America’s president, Donald Trump.
Discussing the new album, Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament has said it needs: “A good solid six to eight weeks carved out where we’re just recording all these ideas that we have.”
Having already played several dates in South America, the European leg of their tour starts in June visiting, amongst others, The Netherlands, the UK, Italy, the Czech Republic and Poland. August and September see the band touring the United States.
Jeff Ament explains the impact of the tour on the new album: “The one thing we have working against us is the upcoming tour, the other thing we have working against us is it takes three or four months to do a vinyl version of any record.”
With Pearl Jam approaching their 30th anniversary, fans will be keen to know if any special events will be taking place. Jeff Ament isn’t sold on the idea, saying: “I always feel like there’s danger in looking back. I always want to make new music and play new shows and go to new places.”
Pearl Jam initially formed in Seattle in 1990, following the demise of the group Mother Love Bone. Their debut studio album “Ten” reached number 18 in the UK charts. Pearl Jam hit the headlines in 1994 with their boycott of playing any venues that had contracts with Ticketmaster, having discovered that the vendor had added a service charge to charity benefit shows.
