Upcoming Rock Music Festivals In June 2018

The music festival scene has well and truly arrived for this year, with plenty more weekends to look forward to around the globe. June is shaping up to be a particularly busy month with a definite slant on rock and heavy metal.

In Germany, the simultaneous Rock Am Park/Rock Im Ring Festival takes place over three days from June 1, with artists including Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Enter Shikari, Foo Fighters and Good Charlotte. Headliners include Thirty Seconds To Mars, who have an entry in the Guinness Book Of Records for playing 309 shows within the space of two years, more than any other rock band.

Sweden Rock Festival 2018 takes place in Solvesburg, kicking off on June 6 with the Quireboys and Hardcore Superstar headlining the main stage. Other artists include Iron Maiden, Helloween, Nazareth, Ozzy Osbourne and Uriah Heep. Ending the show with a bang on the Festival Stage will be Judas Priest, showcasing tracks from their latest album “Firepower”, plus a host of their other classic anthems.

Rockavaria takes place in Germany starting on June 9, creating a dilemma for heavy metal fans as it clashes with the Download Festival in the UK. German enthusiasts can enjoy the likes of Dragonforce, Limp Bizkit and Killswitch Engage, whereas Donington will be rocking out to Guns ‘n’ Roses, Marilyn Manson and Black Stone Cherry.

Further afield, Canada hosts the Montebello Rockfest with fans even being allowed to bring their own boat! This year’s line-up includes Five Finger Death Punch, Lamb Of God, Steel Panther, Dimmu Borgir and Venom.

Other festivals include Azkena Rock in Spain with Van Morrison, Graspop Metal in Belgium with Megadeth and the Meltdown Festival in London with Nine Inch Nails.
