Sari Schorr Announces The Release Of Her New Album ‘Never Say Never’

by Cameron Arndt

New York blues songstress Sari Schorr will release the follow-up to her acclaimed debut, Force Of Nature, on 5th October via Manhaton records. Schorr has been setting stages alight in the two years since her first record dropped, with her powerful, gritty-but-soulful vocals and stunning range delighting audiences across the world.

Not only does she craft emotive, euphoric songs of her own, she’s also capable of astounding reworking’s of (sometimes tired) classics – look no further than her reinvigorating revision of Black Betty, or her band’s mesmerizing take on Lead Belly’s Where Did You Sleep Last Night.

Force Of Nature was recorded with legendary British producer Mike Vernon, and featured former Robert Plant axeman Innis Sibbun. This time out Schorr has put together a new line up of her band, The Engine Room, which is no less noteworthy. Stepping in on guitar is the ultra-talented Ash Wilson – who himself released a highly-praised debut album last year in the excellent Broken Machine. He’s joined by former King King keyboard player Bob Fridzema, without a doubt a prize signing for Schorr.

The engine room of The Engine Room, meanwhile, this time includes former Stevie Nimmo Trio bass player Mat Beable and drummer Roy Martin. The album was recorded at The Grange Studios in Norfolk and reportedly contains some of Schorr’s most raw, honest and personal songs yet.

As the artist herself says in the press release for Never Say Never: “Over the last 18 months, I have travelled from a loft apartment in New York, to a fiance in Spain, lived over a bakery in Bath, on to a factory in Germany, stayed for a while at a sheep farm in Wales, stopped off at a holiday chalet in Skegness, UK, then to a gîte in France and finally to a barn in Norfolk, England. It has been a long, hard journey, full of trials and tribulations, full of tears, full of joy, full of laughter, full of friendship, but most of all, totally worthwhile. I hope you agree.”

To whet appetites for the release, fans will receive a free track from the album, titled Thank You, when they sign up to Manhaton Record’s mailing list. Go here to get your free download: https://mailchi.mp/manhatonrecords.com/sarischorr
