‘Soul-influenced psychedelic Southern rock’ group, The Marcus King Band, have announced their new album, titled Carolina Confessions, will be released to CD, vinyl and download on October 5th via Snakefarm Records.

To celebrate they’ve just dropped a third song from the album – following the release of Homesick and Welcome Round Here. The new song, Where I’m Headed, takes the listener on a real journey, with elements of gospel and blues, touches of brass and plenty of bandleader Marcus King’s signature fiery guitar playing and passionate vocals.

The 22 year old native of Greenville, Carolina is one of the fastest rising stars in the business today, with famous fans including Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes – who was so impressed that he signed the then-19 year old King to his Evil Teen label and released the band’s first two albums, even producing the group’s self-titled follow up to 2015’s debut, Soul Insight.

Of Where I’m Headed, King had this to say:

I wrote it about a very special lady. It's to do with always being on the road and not really knowing where you're going next. A lot of times people ask where we're going and I don't really remember without looking at the tour book. So I'm saying to her that I don't know where I'm headed, but I know you'll be there."

The album features ten songs, each written solely by Marcus King himself, except for How Long which was penned along with The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach and songwriter Pat McLaughlin. The record was produced and mixed at Nashville’s RCA Studio A by Grammy winning producer Dave Cobb.

King is joined as always by his five band mates: Jack Ryan on drums and Stephen Campbell on bass, along with trumpeter / trombonist Justin Johnson, sax player Dean Mitchell and keyboard player DeShawn ‘D-Vibes’ Alexander. The tracklist for Carolina Confessions is as follows:

The band have also announced UK tour dates which will take place after a trek in the US as support to the Tedeschi Trucks Band, as well as headline shows in New York, Nashville, San Francisco and Los Angeles. The UK gigs are as follows:
