Venbee is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter whose dance and electronic music, with drum and bass influences, has appealed to millions of listeners. Venbee's breakthrough single "Messy In Heaven" achieved several prominent positions on UK charts and became a hit on the UK dance music scene, spending fifteen weeks at No. 1 on the UK Dance Singles Chart. More recently, she was nominated for a 2024 Brit Award and has accumulated over 200 million streams on Spotify.

Performing at this year's Beat-Herder Festival in the penultimate slot before Sunday's headline act on the main stage, Giz from Music Talkers had the chance to chat with her backstage. Watch the full interview below.

Thanks for joining us today at MusicTalkers.com. How are you feeling? You alright?

Yeah, I'm good. I'm excited. I'm excited to play. It's the first time being back with the band for a while, so I'm excited.

I just overheard with the previous people that you've played here before. Is that right? Last year?

Yeah, I played last year. Yeah, It was sick!

What stage was it on?

The main stage last year.

Alright, so back again this year. Must have been a good set to be asked back again!

Yeah. I hope they enjoyed it. I'm back again. So we'll have a good time this time as well.

Apparently, it's a bit of a contest because someone was saying earlier on in here that you and Sophia Violet might have similar fans, and you're on at the same time. What do you think?

I don't know. People go to whatever they want to go to- it's all calm.

Yeah that's it.

So you perform with the live band?

Yeah

Because I'm not going to lie, I've not seen any videos of you performing live or anything like that. I've listened to your music. I really like the drum bass vibes. Your voice is really nice and soft, and your head voice sounds beautiful. I was wondering how you'd perform it. So what is the lineup of the band then, please?

I got my drummer Louis, and my guitarist Jack. Just got massive bass through the speakers.

Nice. Looking forward to it.

Yeah it's fun.

I was wondering as well, have you got any new releases coming up that you could inform your fans of?

I do have a new release coming up, and I'm going to start teasing it soon, like Monday, pretty much. So everyone will know about it then. But it's exciting. It's a good collab, and I'm excited about it!

Are you allowed to say who you're collaborating with?

I don't know yet.

Ohhh, I'll stop asking. I'll stop asking. HaHa

Okay, I like to keep it short and sweet. So we like to give everyone a platform to speak directly to the fans. Is there anything you would like to directly say to your fans out there?

Be kind to yourself, be kind to other people-that's about it, I think.

I'm down with that. It's a good mantra. Thanks for talking to us. Much appreciated.

Thanks so much, I appreciate it, sweet.
