The Australian country star Morgan Evans is increasing his traction obtained by his acclaimed record “Things that we drink to”, released in October 2018, with a series of new intimate sets called “Highway 1 Sessions.” The song “Young Again” was released as of 5 Dec 2018.

These sessions are small moments captured in unconventional places, such as the road or certain emotionally significant landmarks for Evans. Very natural performance can be seen and heard from him to the delight of his listeners, who always appreciate a change of pace from the characteristic intensity of the country genre. With the Highway 1 Sessions, there is a much more stripped down performance that just seems to hit closer home. The album is essentially a trip into the mind of Morgan Evans, a meditation if you will, of all his journeys, relationships and deep feelings and thoughts. This is all glued together by the powerful instrumentation that characterizes the genre and Evans himself.

As a brief review of Young Again, Highway 1 Sessions version, we can hear an appropriate more relaxed vocal performance, never drifting away from Morgan’s virtuosity and vocal feat. The guitar playing is upbeat, as the song calls for, but features a warm tone, unprocessed and natural, just as the intention of the performance requires. Overall, a very pleasant sound.

The song features lyrics "We will never be this young again", a saying many could learn off. In addition, this also could be Evans expressing his inner thoughts and conveying a message that we should perhaps enjoy the present moments more.

Anyone familiar with Route 1, will be able to picture the beauty and scenery. One can only imagine that this will reflect in Evans songs and performances. The long stretch of highway running from L.A to San Francisco area has some of the most breathtaking views in the world.

Evans has been recently seeing the effects of paying attention to fans, with gestures in the form of special versions of his music. This gives a closer feeling to his fans, which can also be seen in his live performances, as he finishes his tour around the US this December.

Evans recently entered Top 10 in the Country Airplay Billboard ranking, once again showing that the 33-year-old is a rising talent that we will surely be hearing more from him in the near future.
