Camden Cox combines a powerful vocal line with some real dancefloor class

You may not have heard the name of Camden Cox before, but this London based singer is about to get a lot of attention for her style, vocal delivery and natural talent.
At 27 years old there is a maturity to her voice that allows a brand new song like Healing to stick in your memory and make you want to listen again and again. Over the last twelve months, Camden Cox has started working with some of the UK’s top writers and producers and tracks like this are going to bring her to a much wider audience.
The beat and bass at the beginning of Healing claw you into the song, before changing to allow for Camden Cox’s smooth vocal to sit proudly in the mix; well enough to allow the drive and beat to fill the dancefloor, but with enough clear EQ to let you hear every word sung. There are clever tweaks her vocals have gone through, for example a series of effects that don’t distort from the point of the song, but add an air of mystery. Heavy reverb dominates long sustained notes and overdubbing of vocal harmonies with crescendos lead you in and out of each section sometimes to even more drive, or a complete break which gives a real dynamic and keeps you very interested in what might happen next.
What I really like about Camden Cox’s Healing are the words. They do what other dance tracks often don’t, by which I mean they have a purpose. When you hear them you really relate to them. A sense of someone who has struggled with their own issues, but with time and the support of one person can transform even the darkest hours and aid personal healing to create powerful long lasting relationship. Camden Cox, keep giving us more of this healing music!
