It is safe to say that the music industry is changing very quickly. It could be argued that it’s not always in the most positive ways, but for others it is.

For example, the internet has opened so many doors for artists to release, record and collaborate and that is such a powerful tool to have for independent musicians. But, more importantly now, people are making their big breaks through successful launches on social media platforms, and for Madison Beer, that’s exactly what happened. Probably the most famous of the Youtube generation of stars is Justin Bieber, and it was the aforementioned that gave Madison Beer her break, by sharing a video she had made of the wonderful ‘At Last’ by Etta James. Still at the tender age of 20, and with an already large following, you feel that Madison Beer is only going to go from strength to strength with her new album.

The first minute of ‘Good in Goodbye’ confused me a bit, but some might say that doesn’t take much. It is quite a long version of solo piano that doesn’t fit wholly with the image you have of Madison Beer. But after a minute in the video version the track jumps in with a powerful trap beat, subtle beats that sit behind the clear vocal that is very very relevant to the texture of the song. This puts a seriously catchy melody to the mix and has a fascinating video, that on it’s own is worth many credits. With phrases like: ‘Cause you’re toxic, boy, I ain’t even gonna try to find the “G-O-O-D” in “goodbye”, you know that this song is going to be played a lot by people getting over an ex, or dealing with a breakup and for lots of fans, this song is going to be so relevant.

With over 2 million views on Youtube already, ‘Good in Goodbye’ is going to be huge and it’s a great way to launch the new album, as the first single to be released. Lots of people are going to be talking about Madison Beer this year and I think this could well be a truly remarkable star in the making.
