Loveday is back with a brand-new single, fresh off her last offering “Superficial Life” earning airplay on BBC’s Radio 1.

Now she has hit us with “I Can’t Dance” and injected a much-needed boost of positivity and encouragement into the world. This one feels like it is all about the bass, punchy and relentless which creates the perfect spine for the rest of the song to cling to. The beat will hook you instantly and stay with you long after one has stopped listening.

The whole song feels so incredibly motivating, it is hard not to move when you hear it. It’s as if every fibre of you is being called to action, pushing you forward and urging you to be brave and bold in your pursuit of fun.

Loveday herself said of the song:

“From the moment the song started taking form I was obsessed with the groove of the bass and couldn't sit still. I wrote the lyrics about a feeling of being so consumed by a moment and by music that you don’t care if you can’t dance or look completely ridiculous, you’re just moving in a way that feels amazing without a care about what bystanders may think.”

That famous adage to dance like nobody's watching is taking the forefront here. Loveday wants us to live in moments of pure joy, to allow ourselves to become so immersed in feeling good that we pay no heed to looking silly or being judged by others. She wants us to feel the music, not just hear it. She wants us to let go and experience how utterly amazing and freeing such a sensation can be.

Loveday has already proven herself to be an adaptable and versatile artist, having written music for others, performing DJ work at Leicester nightclub Mosh, and even battled an AI on UK Channel 5’s “The Gadget Show” to see who would deliver a superior performance. Of course, Loveday won.

Her music has its main roots in pop but is proving to not be so easily defined. Electronica and lo-fi are here too, and she pairs these foundations with lyrics and vocals that speak to love, adventure, friendship, freedom, and finding oneself. Loveday has already demonstrated a wisdom far beyond her 20 years in her poignant lyrics and confident performing style. There is no doubt she will continue to rise and thrill us as she does so.
