As if this song wasn’t epic enough when it first dropped in April, Florida metal titans Trivium have gone and outdone themselves. An acoustic version of “Bleed into Me” has just landed, available on all streaming platforms and it truly is something special.

These guys having immense musical talent is no secret. They are not your traditional metalcore band. The skills that Trivium display in every single one of their offerings are a rare and beautiful thing to behold within their genre. Normally favouring a far heavier style, to hear this unplugged version of their track, we get a unique glimpse into the diversity and skill from frontman Matt Heafy.

Heafy is truly on point here, delivering remarkably soft vocals yet losing none of his trademark power and grunt. His ability to seemingly effortlessly shift between dark growls and gentle baritone almost crooning is legendary, and this version of the song has really highlighted the depth of emotion he brings to his singing. His guitar mastery is on full display, working the acoustic instrument to perfection to create a gentler version, while still retaining that distinctive Trivium edginess.

Heafy released a solo acoustic video of “Bleed into Me” on YouTube almost three weeks ago, and the overwhelmingly positive response from the fans inevitably saw the band make this version of the track available on streaming platforms. Previously, it was only included on the Japanese release version of their latest album “What the Dead Men Say.”

With such emphasis on the delivery of the lyrics and more delicate guitar tones, we are treated to the full impact of just how emotive this track really is. There is so much going on here, for such a simple and elegant take on a song that was initially much heavier.

Heafy has tried his hand at many acoustic covers and the results have been consistently brilliant. Recently, he shared his version of the Linkin Park track “One More Light” as a tribute to their late vocalist Chester Bennington, who sadly passed away in 2017. Tugging at the heartstrings of all who heard it, the track was well-received by fans and fellow artists alike.

While we all love our heavy Trivium, fans owe it to themselves to check out this awesome acoustic version of “Bleed into Me,” and the many others on offer. They are remarkable listening experiences that will give you all the right feels and long stay with you.
