Review: RuthAnne still making it on her own with stunning new single Remember This

RuthAnne has had a remarkable career already. At just seventeen years of age, she relocated from Dublin to Los Angeles to chase her dream of a career in music. The very first song she wrote for a major artist was Jojo’s Too Little, Too Late, a top 5 hit in the Billboard Hot 100 back in 2006. She’s also written songs for the likes of Niall Horan and Britney Spears.
Since then she’s stepped out in front of the mic herself with her stunning debut solo album Matters Of The Heart. Released last year to rave reviews, it marked RuthAnne out as a deeply soulful pop star in her own right, with an incredibly rich voice and no let up in her stunning songwriting ability.
Her new single, Remember This, is more of the same: modern soulful pop with an R&B edge. Building from a gentle piano intro, the power in the vocal when the chorus arrives is breathtaking and makes you wonder how RuthAnne isn’t a household name yet. Lyrically it is a powerful offering too as RuthAnne sings: “And I don't mind / If you forget about the times we felt the pain / And you forget about the stupid mess we made / But please tell me you'll remember this”.
Writing on her official Facebook page, RuthAnne said: “ITS OUT!! Feels so good to be back and your reaction has been so incredible! Thank you so much for all your support of my new single Remember This. I wrote this song with the amazing Future Cut to always remember to enjoy the good moments we have, to appreciate the small things, the little victories, to stay present and pat ourselves on the back for how far we’ve come and to fully embrace and show love for the real ones in our lives who are part of the journey we’re all on together.“
I hope it brings you some joy and when the beat drops I hope you feel some type of way! Love you all so much. Share it far and wide on your fave platforms because indie artists like myself need your support more than ever.”
