JP Saxe and Maren Morris have just premiered 'Line By Line' via live broadcast. Prior to the video release, both discussed aspects of writing the song and the various ideas behind it. Maren explained this was her first Youtube video premiere of this kind, with both taking questions on a split screen layout.

JP and Maren exchanged compliments with each other, and answered questions about the new song. JP explained that he reached out on Twitter to collaborate with Maren, both agreeing it's a great way now to approach other musicians directly.

About Line By Line he also said "it's a love song about how the best kind of love is hard to accurately depict in a love song", with Maren adding "we're never going to get it right in one song, it's an ongoing journey". JP also went on to say that he's beyond honored that they get to sing this song together, and that Maren was his first ever writing session in Nashville, and joked that he might have "peaked early" in his Nashville writing. 

One fan asked them "if this song was a cartoon character what cartoon character would it be?". Maren answered it reminded her of a Miyazaki type cartoon, with JP Saxe agreeing on that type of vibe too. Commenting on the song further, he said "if songs don't feel like the truth, they give me anxiety. I have trouble singing songs that don't feel honest, it feels like the same anxiety I would get lying to my best friend"

Line By Line is a steady number featuring authentic lyrics, and the blend of their voices is pure bliss. Maren’s vocals are always second to none, and on this track she compliments it perfectly. With a relatively reserved performance from both singers, the song isn't overdone, giving a classy feel to it. A comment by a fan on Youtube sums it up well saying "Your music touches my heart...it speaks to my soul".
