Hailing from the quiet Sydney suburb of Lindfield in the land down under, psychedelic indie rock troubadours The Lazy Eyes have been turning heads in their homeland, and winning over fans and critics alike with their spacey live shows and their intricate, layered tracks, despite the fact that all four of them are still in their teenage years.

Comprised of Harvey Geraghty (vocals, guitar, keyboard), Itay Shachar (vocals, guitar), Leon Karagic (bass) and Noah Martin (drums), the youngsters dropped their debut single Cheesy Love Song last year, and what a track it is – mixing sixties influences with more contemporary outfits like The Flaming Lips to form a blissful and engaging psychedelic pop sound. It was followed by their first EP – the gloriously simply titled EP1 – which received some excellent reviews.

Now the foursome are back with their new offering Where’s My Brain???, and it’s another captivating affair with dreamy, effects-laden riffs, tight drums and trippy lyrics (“I find all my hair / Lost in the sheets / The sheets of my bed / I lost all my love / Lost down the drain / Along with my brain’). The track is accompanied by a video directed by Jesse Taylor Smith that mixes animated elements with a very sixties feel.

The track is also the first single taken from the band’s upcoming second EP, though a release date for that record is yet to be confirmed. To celebrate the release of the single though, the band have also announced a four-date tour around Australia, playing their first ever gig at each of the stops. Opening at The Workers Club in Melbourne on Saturday 20 February, they then play the Black Bear Lodge in Brisbane on Friday 26 February, the La La La’s in Wollongong on Thursday 4 March, and finish the tour at Newcastle’s The Stag & Hunter on Friday 5 March.
