Alex Kate has just released a new track titled "Animal," brimming with vibrant energy and unique sound elements you won't want to miss. Known for her ethereal vocals and compelling orchestral arrangements, Alex Kate's music draws comparisons to artists like Kate Bush, Bjork, Florence + The Machine, and Birdy. To create her distinctive sound, Alex Kate collaborates regularly with her long-standing writing partner Heather Crawford and has worked with esteemed producers and engineers. For the final touch, Grammy Award-winning mastering engineer Andy Walter lent his expertise to the track.
The track “Animal” started appearing before Alex Kate after a conversation she had with her young nephew about lions and leopards. It is truly beautiful how we as adults can find meaningful substance in the smallest little thing and I think that is something to practice. Instead of overcomplicating things and starting out with a huge amount of information, we can take the smallest concept or conversation and use our imagination to fill in the rest of the blanks. Alex felt frustrated with life’s complexities and saw a lot of beauty in the simplicity of life in the animal kingdom.
In the track, Alex blends her ethereal vocals with orchestral arrangements, electric guitars and driving drums. This makes for a powerful and captivating listen. Ashton Foster who produced the vocals described that the song “should be a theme tune for the next big video game”. Apart from agreeing with this, I would also state that it could go well over a movie! The track has just the right amount of epic and grandiose to fit in that universe! Or else, just listen to the track whilst taking a stroll, studying for exams or doing any other task that you could possibly think of. I know that sounds like a threat, but I’m just saying, give it a go!
If you have more time to spare, the music video for this track sets the mood just right. We see footage shot in South Africa. Alex Kate is being backed by a full rock’n’ roll band behaving wild and free to beautiful visuals. I think this captures the song pretty well.
Go ahead and give “Animal” by Alex Kate a spin!
