Ellie Goulding recording new Bond theme?

Speculation has been mounting as to who will be recording the theme for the next Bond movie Spectre and it seems that Ellie Goulding might just have dropped a massive hint.

She recently posted the simple tweet: “Live and let die” causing many of her followers to speculate whether she might be following in Adele’s footsteps.

Prior to Goulding’s own little teaser, fellow pop star Sam Smith had also hinted that she might be in the process of recording the new Bond theme and now fans are taking her latest announcement as confirmation.

Many other artists have been tipped for the job including Paloma Faith and Ed Sheeran. Noel Gallagher had also reportedly put himself forward for the role but it was tho0ught that he wouldn’t be right for the job.

No official word has been given regarding who will be singing the theme but an announcement is thought to be imminent as the film Spectre is due to be released on November 6th.
The reactions to Goulding’s apparent confirmation have been mixed online. She has already had experience with singing themes for films having recorded Love Me Like You Do for Fifty Shades of Grey but it has been questioned if her voice is powerful enough to pull off a Bond theme.

Historically, the singers who have tackled big Bond themes have had even bigger voices. Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones and Adele for example have all had big voices so whether Goulding could pull it off, or if she is singing the theme at all, remains to be seen.
