Rihanna Turned Down Sia Penned Track
Sia has revealed that a song that she wrote in collaboration with Adele was rejected by Rihanna.
The song in question – “Alive” has already been released by Sia but despite the highly credible artists that were associated with the song, Rihanna still chose to turn it down.
Sia said: "We wrote three songs in two days and none of them made the cut and this was one of them.
"I said to [Adele], 'Do you mind if I pitch it to, say, Rihanna?' And she said, 'Yeah, but can you take my vocal off it because I don't want my vocal floating around out there on a demo'.
"So I went and re-cut the vocal and everybody in my life was like, 'You can't give this away to anybody'."
Upon hearing the track, Sia says that the people closest to her were insistent that she shouldn’t let it go for any other artist but she still decided to offer it to Rihanna.
In an interview, Sia said: "Well actually I believe she did [get a chance to consider it] and she passed.
"We sent it to her, but it's not really her so I don't know why I thought that. It is a smash, but she's a little more edgy."
Rihanna has previously and famously recorded a song that was written by Sia – a little tune by the name of “Diamonds”. The record went on to become one of the biggest of Rihanna’s career.
