Rising Country Star - Morgan Evans New EP Release

by Liz J

Country music's rising star, Morgan Evans, has gone full circle with the release of his new EP. You see, ten years ago, Evans made his first trip to a bar called Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge on Lower Broadway in Nashville - the very place he visited on his maiden visit to this iconic city.

This past week, he returned to celebrate the release of his self-titled EP.

Evans, originally from Australia, truly lives his life in moments, and Tootsie’s is one of those defining moments. “More and more when I experience big life and career moments, they remind me of all the little ones that happened before and made them possible,” Evans says. “I remember that moment as one of the defining ones, thinking, ‘This is the greatest city on Earth.’”.

And that's what makes Morgan Evans so great. By looking at life in moments, and appreciating the finer details of each experience, he is able to bring a far more layered approach to his music. This is evident in his latest release, which features five songs all bringing to life a moment in some way or form.

A prime example of such a moment can be found in Kiss Somebody, an endearing song about making the most of each opportunity and just going for it. I strongly suggest you check out the music video for this song as it brings the essence of moments across so beautifully - and what happens if you don't take them.

Evans also has this ability to paint a very vivid image in the listener's mind. Having co-written all of his songs, it makes one kind of jealous to think he's capable of seeing the various nuances of daily life in such vibrant colour. Take the opening line of America as testament to this: “She got hair as gold as Kansas wheat | Her body moves like Bourbon street.” He just transports his fans to the exact moment and time he's singing about, and he does it so effortlessly.

Evan’s latest contribution to the country music genre has been well-received across the board, cementing his place towards country music stardom. While staying true to the homely feel that has made country what it is, he manages to bring a current flair to it all, winning the hearts of both young and old.

Nashville certainly hasn't seen the last of Evans, as he's set to perform at the American Country Music Honors soon. Then it's back home where Evans will perform at various sold-out shows in Australia.
