Struggling retailer HMV has made new TV adverts to promote its stores over the festive season.

The company has made a series of eleven animated in the hope to boost flagging sales during the festive retail season which accounts for approximately 60% of the company’s overall annual revenue.

The contestants were billed to sing Katy Perry’s hit song Last Friday Night but the teetotal Jahmene refused to take part because the song glorifies drinking.

There was never any question that Dave Grohl was going to be a musician, from the moment when he fired his first guitar teacher and decided to teach himself at the age of 12. His rock and roll persona was firmly established when he became heavily dependent on marijuana while still at high school and spent most of his free time hanging out at local clubs watching punk bands. He somehow found the time to teach himself drums along the way and by the time Kurt Cobain saw him playing in Washington band Scream in 1990 and asked him to join his band Nirvana, his place in rock history was assured. Nevermind with its iconic single release `Smells like Teen Spirit` went on to become the anthem of a generation and is often quoted as being one of the best albums every made.

A new web application for use with Chrome has been announced by Emma Turpin from Google Creative Lab. The app named JAM with Chrome allows users to play music but not just that. It essentially gives users the ability to play music with their friends who are also using Chrome to browse the internet, creating virtual bands in real time.
