MCA: More than a Beastie Boy

News broke that Adam Yauch aka MCA of the Beastie Boys lost his three year battle with cancer on Friday May 4th.  And while he did become famous for being a Beastie Boy Yauch was much more than just a rapper.  In 2009 Yauch announced he was going to undergo treatment for a cancerous parotid gland and a lymph node.  Reports in the following years were promising but a sign things were not well was when he was not able to attend the Beastie Boys induction into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame last month.

The rapper who was born Cameron Jibril Thomaz was apparantly called on by police in his hotel room at Holiday Inn in Nashville on Saturday (April 23) The police were called to his room as a result of guest complaints of a smell coming from the rappers room. According to celebrity news website TMZ.com.

A new video has been released to summarize the 2012 Women of Aviation Worldwide Week. Pink Floyd Music Publishers Limited gave their official permission to use "Learning to Fly" as the video's soundtrack. Keen aviatrix Annette Lynton Mason (wife of Pink Floyd's drummer) can be seen in the video, as she was one the pilots participating to the week's activities.

V Festival,sponsored by Virgin Media is one of the biggest summer festivals in the UK. It will take place this year in Hylands Park Essex. Some of the bigggest stars have been added to the line-up such as James Morrison and The Feeling. Recently added to the line-up was The Gossip and UK hip-hop superstar Wretch 32. The blazing Barbie like female artist became raged after apparent leaks of her latest album were posted as links.
